Dissertation Award Call

Call for 2009 BPS Outstanding Dissertation Award Submissions

The BPS Division will sponsor the Award for Outstanding Dissertation Research in Business Policy and Strategy again in 2009. Any doctoral dissertation addressing the area of Business Policy and Strategic Management completed between February 1, 2008 and January 31, 2009, and not previously submitted for consideration may be entered. The completion date is defined as when the degree is completed and awarded. A dissertation can be submitted simultaneously to the BPS Division and to other divisions if it fits within each division's domain statement.

Interested persons should submit their entry via e-mail, with two attached Word documents:  (i) a one-page abstract of the dissertation and (ii) a ten-page summary of the dissertation. This should be double spaced, with an appendix containing a small number of tables beyond the 10 page summary if so desired.

Submissions must be received by Monday February 15, 2009. Submissions by fax will not be accepted.

In order to facilitate compliance with the BPS conflict of interest policy and the blind review process, please remove any author identification from your dissertation summary and provide the following information in the e-mail:

· Name

· Current affiliation

· E-mail

· Phone

· Institution granting the degree

· Date degree granted

· Dissertation committee chair (and current affiliation)

  • · Committee members (and current affiliation)
     
  • Entrants selected in the first round of evaluations will be requested to send a file with the complete dissertation in mid-March 2009.
